(MIAMI, February 16, 2010) –Miami-Dade Community Action Agency’s (CAA) Head Start/Early Head Start Program will be sponsoring an Open Enrollment Fair, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Miami Gardens Community Service Center, located at 16425 Northwest 25th Avenue in Miami Gardens from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The fair will provide parents with the opportunity to enroll their child in the Head Start program. Social Workers will be available to assist parents in completing the necessary application form and answer questions regarding the program. Parents will also have the opportunity to see actual classrooms and other facilities by participating in guided tours of the Ophelia E. Brown-Lawson Head Start Center located at the community service center complex.
In addition to enrollment for the Head Start program, parents will also have access to other CAA programs as well as other County Departments and organizations. There will be games, face painting, clowns and other activities. Shelby Rushin from the Ricky Smiley Morning Show on WEDR will be broadcasting live from the event and participants will have the opportunity to win music CD’s, t-shirts and other prizes.
